YARN WEIGHTS DEFINED…

Lace Weight
The stitches per inch/cm of fine lace weight yarns vary according to the needle size used. They are suitable for knitting shawls and for fine weaving (36-40 wpi).

DK Weight
5-6 sts/in with a 5 to 7 US needle (3.75-4.5 mm). [Crochet: 12-17 st/in with a 7 to I-9 hook]

Worsted Weight
4-5 sts/in with a 7 to 9 US needle (4.5-5.5mm). [Crochet: 11-14 st/in with an I-9 to K-10 1/2 hook]

Heavy Worsted Weight
4 sts/in with a 9 US needle (5.5 mm). [Crochet: 8 st/in with a K-10 1/2 hook]

undyed yarn for weaving, knitting, & crocheting

My primary focus is on the softest fibers available, yet with a concern for strength. So most of the yarns I carry are wool/silk blends. These yarns dye beautifully with the Minnesota Series Dyes™. They are also elegant in their natural, undyed state. Contact us if larger quantities or other skein lengths/weights are desired.
